DILLON, SC (WMBF) – One group in the Pee Dee is putting your jeans to a good use.
The Jeans for Teens organization in Dillon is collecting gently used and new jeans. They are donating the jeans to teens in the area that need them.
Organizers say last year, they collected over 500 pairs of jeans and want to try to beat that record this year. They are aiming for 1,000 donations. The group also accepts dress pants, skirts, dresses and shorts.
"We collect jeans for teens just like us. We wanted to relate to someone, you know, we want a project we can get into and care about," said Savannah Bethea, a member of the group. "People are always giving to little kids and older people, everybody forgets about the teenagers, so that is why we're doing it."
This is the third year the organization has collected the jeans. If you would like to help, you can drop off your donations at Dillon Christian School.
