CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – An Assistant Solicitor with the 15th Circuit Solicitor's Office in Horry County finds himself on the other side of the law after an arrest for driving under the influence Monday.
Booking records from J. Reuben Long Detention Center show that Robert B. "Bo" Bryan, 40, is charged with driving under the influence and having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is responsible for the arrest. According to Sonny Collins with SCHP, Bryan was stopped by troopers at 3:15 a.m. Monday on Hwy 501 near Grissom Parkway. The traffic stop resulted in a DUI arrest. Bryan was first transported to the Myrtle Beach Police station and then booked at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
Records state that Bryan was booked at 7:25 a.m. Monday morning, and released nearly two hours later at 9:18 a.m.
Solicitor Greg Hembree with the solicitor's office said Bryan has submitted his resignation and stated Bryan is no longer employed.
Hembree added Bryan worked with the solicitor's office since 1999.
He says Bryan did a lot of great work for the people of Horry and Georgetown counties.
"I've been around long enough to know that good people make mistakes. The difference is when you're a criminal prosecutor you're held to a higher standard," Hembree said.
Authorities could not release any other information related to the arrest pending trial.
Neighbors in the Myrtle Beach community where Bryan lives say it's surprising to hear about a prosecutor on the other side of the law.
"If that's the facts and he was driving under the influence and risking everybody's lives, unfortunately he deserves whatever happens to him," said Steve Abbott.
Bryan is being represented by attorney Bert VonHermann who describes the whole situation as tragic for everyone involved. He says no trial date has been set.
