RAEFORD, NC (AP) - A South Carolina woman is facing drug manufacturing and child abuse charges in North Carolina.
The Fayetteville Observer reported that 23-year-old Ashley Milligan of Summerville, S.C., is charged with child abuse, manufacturing methamphetamine and obstruction of justice.
Hoke County Sheriff Hubert Peterkin says Milligan's 4-month-old son was found in a mobile home in Raeford last week. Peterkin says the boy suffered second- and third-degree burns, possibly from exposure to chemicals.
The sheriff says the boy was staying at the home of his grandmother, 42-year-old Michelle Lynn Tiller, and 46-year-old Samuel Junior Weatherford. Both of them also are charged with child abuse and drug-related charges.
It was unclear if they have attorneys.
