Marion Co. sheriff's office arrests 30 on drug charges

The Marion County Combined Drug Unit and the Drug Enforcement Administration Florence Resident Office conducted a joint operation to serve state and federal arrest warrants on Wednesday, February 2, 2011.  These arrests resulted from ongoing criminal drug and firearm investigations being conducted throughout Marion County.  25 people were arrested on 39 state arrest warrants and 5 were arrested on federal indictments.

The five people arrested on federal arrest warrants for drug and firearm related offenses as follows: Tyrone Adams, Jason Donnell Nichols Sr., Avery Watson, Calvin Lekendrick Williamson and Deandrea Lashawn Tart.  These cases are being prosecuted by the US Attorney's Office in Florence.

Lt. Brian Wallace stated, "The Drug Unit is committed to taking drugs and guns off the streets of Marion County, We will not stop!"  There are more arrests imminent. 

The Drug Unit and DEA were assisted during the roundup by: Marion County Sheriff's Office; Marion Police Department; Mullins Police Department; Nichols Police Department; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; US Marshal's Service; SC National Guard Counterdrug Task Force; SC Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services; and 12th Circuit Solicitor's Office.

The following people were arrested on state drug related warrants:

  • Marquis Rakim Allison, 21, of Gresham was charged with distribution of marijuana.
  • John Russell Brown, 52, of Marion was charged with distribution of a controlled substance.
  • Harvey Jerma William Daniels, 29, of Marion was charged with two counts of distribution of marijuana.
  • Donald Davis, 37, of Marion was charged with distribution of marijuana and distribution of a controlled substance within proximity of a school.
  • Latrone Davis, 29, of Marion was charged with distribution of cocaine base – 2ndnd offense, distribution of a controlled substance within proximity of a school and possession of cocaine base – 2 offense.
  • Willie Taron Davis, 30, of Marion was charged with two counts of distribution of cocaine – 2nd offense and distribution of a controlled substance within proximity of a school.
  • Joshua Jerome Garner 23, of Marion was charged with two counts of distribution of marijuana – 2nd offense.
  • Elijah Jerome Gurley, 30, of Marion was charged with distribution of cocaine base – 2nd offense.
  • Rachel Anne Herring, 22, of Marion was charged with distribution of marijuana and distribution of MDMA "Ecstasy".
  • Stacy Timothy Howard, 37, of Marion was charged with distribution of cocaine base – 2nd offense.
  • Crystal Gail Jones, 30, of Mullins was charged with two counts of distribution of controlled substances.
  • Antoine James Killings, 22, of Marion was charged with distribution of cocaine base and distribution of a controlled substance within proximity of a school.
  • Jeffery Demarus McFarland, 28, of Marion was charged with distribution of marijuana
  • Demetrus Dorrell Moore, 22, of Marion was charged with three counts of distribution of cocaine base and distribution of a controlled substance within proximity of a school
  • William Ervin Moore, 29, of Marion was charged with distribution of marijuana and distribution of MDMA "Ecstasy".
  • Teamore Owens III, 30, of Marion was charged with distribution of marijuana.
  • Draper Laugarde Pearson, 34, of Marion was charged with distribution of marijuana.
  • Tomeka Bashawn Reed, 34, of Centenary was charged with distribution of a heroin.
  • Mary Ruth Stroud, 29, of Mullins was charged with two counts of distribution of controlled substances.
  • Travis Levarge Wilson, 25, of Rains was charged with distribution of marijuana.

Sheriff Mark Richardson urges the citizens of Marion County to take a vigilant stand against illegal drug and gang activity in their community. Please report any suspicious activity to Law Enforcement.
