DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) – The Darlington Police Department has now asked for the help of U.S. Marshals in locating a teen missing from the Darlington area since 2009.

Capt. Daniel Watson, spokesperson for the Darlington Police Department, said Sable Alexis Shelton, now 15, disappeared in October of 2009.

Police believe Shelton is with her mother, Melissa Ann Butler, 33, and Juan "Angel" Calderone, and think the three went to Mexico.

Calderone is wanted out of Darlington County for sex crimes.

Shelton is described as a white female standing around 5'5" and weighing around 150 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Butler is described as a white female standing around 5'8" and weighing 175 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Butler was last seen in the City of Darlington, making a child support payment.

She was then reported missing after she did not pick up her paycheck.

Butler faces charges of unlawful neglect of a child, and Calderone is wanted for a bench warrant.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Darlington Police Department at 843-398-4028, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 800-THE-LOST, or the U.S. Marshals at 843-727-4016.

All calls can remain anonymous.
