Armed robbery investigation leads to arrest of 3 in Brunswick Co.

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WMBF) – Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office have arrested three people in connection to an armed robbery Saturday.

April Gause, spokeswoman for the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, said Collin Chase Bennett, 20, of Supply, Taylor Reid Bennett, 19, also of Supply and Kristen Maria Steinbach, 18, of Shallotte were arrested Nov. 8.

According to officials, around 10 p.m. Saturday, two victims went to a residence located at 3098 Shell Point Rd. after Steinbach contacted them, asking for a ride. When the victims arrived, officials say Collin and Taylor Bennett, wearing masks, approached the victims and demanded money. One victim was also assaulted.

The Bennetts allegedly took $230 from the victims and proceeded to flee on foot.

Collin Bennett is charged with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon. His bond was set at $100,000 secured.

Taylor Bennett is charged with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon. His bond was set at $100,000 secured.

Steinbach is charged with aiding and abetting an armed robbery. Her bond was set at $100,000.

All three remain incarcerated at the Brunswick County Detention Center.
