WASHINGTON (WMBF) - The National I-73/74 Corridor Association has voted to add Michigan's Interstate 75 to the focus of its group.
During a Board of Directors meeting Friday morning in Washington, D.C., the group heard from leaders in Ohio and Michigan about the need for Interstate 75 in those areas.
South Carolina Rep. Alan Clemmons, who also serves as the chairman of the association, said the move is a positive step to rally people in those areas behind I-73 in South Carolina.
"We have struggled to bring Michigan to the table to embrace I-73," Clemmons noted. "We're looking forward to helping them help us fund and build I-73 and I-75."
Part of I-75 is in northern Michigan and includes 200 miles of interstate within the footprint of I-73.
