MURRELLS INLET, SC (WMBF) – They're not quite Venus and Serena Williams … yet … but our WMBF News Athletes of the Week are tearing it up on the tennis court, even if one of them came out of nowhere.

Jessi Campos is St. James High School's tennis team's captain and top player.  Her sister, Rebeca, is their fourth-ranked player.  Both sisters moved to South Carolina from Mexico.  Jessi has been here four years, Rebeca just came this year.

"[Jessi is] better [at tennis], she always helps me with good advice and stuff," said Rebeca.

While Jessi is the top player right now, she's equally impressed with her younger sister's skills.

"I was surprised," said Jessi. "I'd never seen her play until she came here actually, now she's undefeated."

The rest of the team is impressed with Rebeca as well.

"I teach math, so the word exponential comes to mind," said St. James tennis coach Patrick Cannon.  "Every time she gets out there, the more she plays, the better she gets."

The attention isn't just based on Rebeca's talent – it's that she's doing so well having never played competitive tennis before.

"Well I just started this year, I've never played much on a team before," said Rebeca.

Rebeca has been getting a lot of help from her more experience sister.  Opponents, however, have no idea what that advice is.

"I can't speak to her in English, it's weird," said Jessi.

Rebeca says the advice helps.  The main piece of advice she gets from her big sister?

"Do your best," said Rebeca.
