Land of Nod toy recalled

Washington, D.C -

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WMBF) – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a voluntary recall of several The Land of Nod toy vegetables Wednesday.

The "Play With Your Veggies" toy set contains a metal wire in the asparagus toy that can become exposed, posting a laceration hazard to children.

No injuries have been reported.

The set contains six vegetables - a radish, onion, asparagus, tomato, lettuce, and carrot. The asparagus is the only toy involved in this recall.

Consumers should immediately take the toy asparagus from children and send it to the company for a free replacement.

Sold exclusively at The Land of Nod stores in Illinois and Washington, The Land of Nod catalog and at www.landofnod.com from October 2007 through February 2010, the "Play With Your Veggies" toys ran about $25 and were manufactured in Nepal.

Consumers are asked to stop using the recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled product.
