Ocean Blvd. armed robbery leads to 2 arrests

Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A 19-year-old's walk back to his motel room quickly turned violent after a group of four people punched and robbed the teenager on Sunday, according to police.

Myrtle Beach Police were dispatched to 513 N. Ocean Blvd. just before 6 a.m. after learning reports of a strong armed robbery. Upon arrival, police located a victim who said a group of four people punched and robbed him moments after striking up a conversation.

The victim said a juvenile suspect began punching him in the side of his jaw when three accomplices became engaged in the altercation. The suspects, according to police, demanded money the victim claimed he didn't have.

Two adult suspects and a juvenile fled the area on foot after police arrival on the scene.

Police were able to detain one of the suspects, identified as Kyvion De Andre Ware, 18, of Kodak, TN, and a second juvenile suspect. A third suspect, according to police, managed to elude officers.

Officials said a case file was completed and a warrant was served on Ware at the Myrtle Beach Jail. A police report stated arrangements were being made to transport the juvenile suspect to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

The victim was treated by EMS personnel on scene.
