Brunswick Co. deputies arrest two after executing search warrant

Brunswick County, NC -

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WMBF) – Two Leland, NC residents are facing drug charges after a search warrant was executed on Thursday by Brunswick County Sheriff's Office Drug Enforcement Agents.

April Gause, spokeswoman for the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, said agents searched a residence and the Stump Jumpers Garage business in the Winnabow area around 3 p.m. and found firearms, money, and drugs.

Larry Ronald Capps, Jr., 47, and Deanne Louise Johnson, 45, were arrested at the Stump Jumper's Garage following the search.

Fifty firearms, over $3,000 and an ounce of cocaine were seized from the properties. A 2008 Harley Davidson Motorcycle, a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado Dually, a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe and a 1986 GMC truck were also seized during the search.

Capps, owner of the residence and business is the President of the local Cape Fear Chapter of the Red Devils Motorcycle Gang. The Red Devils are a motorcycle gang which is affiliated with the Hells Angels Motorcycle Gang.

Items seized during the search warrant provided a great deal of proof of gang affiliation.

Capps has been charged with trafficking, possession with intent to distribute and manufacturing cocaine, as well as maintaining dwelling, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a weapon of mass destruction.

Johnson has been charged with possession of cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were arrested without incident and taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center.

An $800,000 secured bond was set for Capps, while a $1,000 unsecured bond was set for Johnson.
