Myrtle Beach, SC (WMBF) - If you're looking for a way to get out and enjoy the last unofficial weekend of summer, a hot air balloon ride at the Beach Boogie BBQ Festival at the Market Common is a new option.
WMBF News anchor Chandi Lowry went up, up and away in an Anheuser-Bush hot air balloon with Greg Moore who's been a pilot for over 2 decades.
Moore said, "It's like you're sitting still and the world is turning under you. The scenery is great. I mean the scenery is just beautiful."
The company came to Myrtle Beach because the event is a food festival, which has a lot to offer both visitors and those of us who get to enjoy Myrtle Beach all year long.
There's music, a kids zone and of course, food.
Amie Lee with the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce says "the public will be able to sample BBQ from all 50 participating teams."
While the food is a big attraction, it is not the biggest one.
Folks have to win trivia games to be entered into raffles to get to ride in the hot air balloon.
The Beach, Boogie, BBQ Festival will continue Saturday morning.
