Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The 27th GOLF.com World Amateur Handicap Championship will present the 2010 World Am trophy on Friday.
After several days of play, one person will be crowned the winner of the World Am on Friday. The ceremony is expected to begin around 3 p.m. at the TPC Myrtle Beach.
The International Pairs winners will also be recognized at that time.
The GOLF.com World Am web site allows viewers to keep track of the tournament with updated standings, news releases and photographs.
Hosted by Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday, the World Amateur Handicap Championship is a 72-hole, net stroke play tournament. Players are arranged into groups according to their handicap score and at the conclusion of the four rounds, group winners will advance to the 18-hole playoff on Friday, Sept. 3.
The championship features six divisions, ranging from men and women age 49-years-old and under to those age 70-years-old and older.
Players with handicap scores as low as three and as high as 34 have won the championship. A woman has won the last three titles including 2009 winner Linda Fuller of Richmond, Texas.
