Brunswick Co. deputies search for theft suspect

Brunswick County, NC - BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WMBF) – Deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office are looking for a suspect in connection with the theft of boat motors.

April Gause, spokeswoman for the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, said Davis Reid Chestnut, 19, of Calabash, NC is wanted for two counts of felony possession of stolen goods.

Deputies said between Aug. 20 – 21, several boat motors were stolen from residences in the Little River area. After an investigation, detectives recovered two of the motors in Chestnut's possession in Brunswick County. A 60hp Yamaha and 50hp mercury motors have been returned to their owners in South Carolina.

The motors were valued around $7,500.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.

Chestnut is described as a white male standing about 6'2" and weighing 160 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
