GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Money raised from a two-mile breast cancer walk in Murrells Inlet will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, according to event organizers.
Officials with the Georgetown Hospital System announced details on the fifth annual In the Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, to be held on Oct. 2 at the Imaging Center in Waccamaw Medical Park.
Registration for the two-mile walk will begin at 9 a.m., with the walk beginning at 10:30 a.m. After the walk, event organizers will hold a Duck-A-Palooza race at noon near the Marsh Walk in Murrells Inlet.
Entry fee for the walk is $20 before Sept. 3. From Sept. 4 - Oct. 2, a $25 registration fee will be charged.
Proceeds from the wall will benefit the GHS Indigent Breast Cancer Fun. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds will also benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
