Brunswick County, NC - BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WMBF) – The annual Brunswick County Intercultural Festival is set for Sept. 11.
The festival, which provides attendees with information on cultures throughout the world, will be on the grounds of the Odell Williamson Auditorium on the campus of Brunswick Community College from noon to 5 p.m.
The theme is "Bringing the World to Brunswick County."
Entertainment will be provided by Port City Pipes and Drum, the Filipino-American dancers, Mexican Folklore Dancers, Japanese dance and drums, Chinese-American dancers and a Middle Eastern dancer. There will also be storytellers and gospel music.
Visitors will also have a chance to sample ethnic food throughout the event.
The International pavilion will also be at the festival and is set up to give people from the community the opportunity to share information about their culture and heritage. Displays of art, costumes, landscape, history, books, demonstrations and music will be available.
Last year, the festival attracted about 1,000 attendees. Organizers hope the mix of food, entertainment and cultural-learning opportunities will draw more people to this year's event.
