Brunswick Co. arrest man for armed robbery

Brunswick County, NC - BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WMBF) – One man has been arrested in connection with a Tuesday night armed robbery Wednesday.

April Gause, spokeswoman for the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, said Curtis James Robinson, 47, of Longwood, NC was arrested Wednesday after turning himself into deputies.

Deputies said on Tuesday, Aug. 31, a black male entered the Kangaroo business located at 927 Seaside Rd. in the Sunset Beach area of North Carolina around 10:30 p.m. The subject presented a knife and threatened the clerk, ordering the clerk to the floor.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the cash register by the subject, who then fled the scene in a dark color vehicle. The subject did not attempt to conceal his identity.

Upon further investigation, detectives identified the subject as Robinson.

Robinson turned himself in and remains at the Brunswick County Detention Facility with a $15,000 secured bond.
