MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Officials with the embattled Waccamaw Economic Opportunity Council hope an upcoming election will help fill a vacant Horry County board seat.
The election will be held at the Canal Street Recreation Center in Myrtle Beach on Sept. 30 at 6 p.m.
Nominations for the open position will be made from the floor during the meeting, followed by voting by written ballot. Those wishing to fill the board seat must be at least 21 years of age and live in Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, Garden City or Socastee.
The person nominated for the position, according to officials, will represent Area Two of Horry County on the Waccamaw EOC Board.
