Marlboro Co. ask for help id'ing suspects involved in robbery

Clio, SC - CLIO, SC (WMBF) – The Marlboro County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying suspects involved in an armed robbery on Sunday, Aug. 29.

Lt. Jamie Seales , spokesman for the Marlboro County Sheriff's Office, said the MCSO responded to a residence in Clio around 4 p.m. in reference to a burglary and armed robbery.

The victim stated a silver or gray vehicle pulled into his yard and blew the horn. When the victim went outside, he spoke with a black male and two other suspects exited the vehicle. The suspects allegedly forced the victim onto the ground and bound the victim with black zip ties.

He was then forced to enter his home. The victim claimed the suspects attempted to burglarize his home and then discovered another victim in the house. The suspects fled the scene in their vehicle on Hwy 83 in the direction of North Carolina.

The first suspect is described as a black male, standing around 5'9" and weighing approximately 170 pounds. He has short hair and was wearing blue jeans, a green t-shirt, and a baseball hat.

The other two suspects were described as wearing black ski masks to cover their faces with black gloves and handguns. One is reported as being a heavy-set male, possibly 250 – 300 pounds.

Deputies said the incident is similar to other cases they are working on in the area, and FBI and SLED are involved in the investigation.
