MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Tuesday marks the last day for contractors to bid on landscape packages tied to the Myrtle Beach International Terminal Capacity Enhancement Project.
According to officials, duties packed into the construction packages include demolition, utility relocations, storm drainage, grading, erosion control, road paving, landscaping and irrigation.
Properly licensed South Carolina contractors have until 2 p.m. Tuesday to place a bid.
Bidding documents have been made available at the MB Kahn Construction Office and LS3P Associates in Charlotte, NC. Internet access or hard copies can be made available upon request.
Contractors also have the opportunity to bid on other project packages that include building and finishes, elevators, escalators, auger cast piles, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC, electrical work and fire alarms.
The deadline for licensed South Carolina contractors to bid on the building and finishes package is Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. Bids for the remaining packages will be due Sept. 14 at 3 p.m.
The project, funded by the Federal Aviation Administration, will increase the number of gates available at the Myrtle Beach International Airport from seven to twelve. The expansion is expected to pump nearly $300 million in to the Grand Strand economy.
Officials estimate the project will take 36 months to complete.
