Deputies: Man holds girlfriend at gunpoint, tries to set ablaze

Darlington, SC - DARLINGTON, SC (WMBF) - A 32-year-old man considered to be armed and dangerous is at the center of a search by deputies in Darlington County early Monday afternoon.

Edward Lamar Moses, 32, of Darlington, is wanted by authorities on charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, and the possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Capt. Andy Locklair, spokesman for the Darlington County Sheriff's Office, said deputies were called to Moses' home this weekend after his girlfriend said he was chasing her around their house with a handgun. Upon police arrival, Locklair said Moses fled the scene and has not been able to be located by authorities.

Investigators said Moses allegedly held his girlfriend at gunpoint and attempted to set her on fire during the altercation.

Moses is believed to be driving a brown and tan 1989 Ford Ranger pick-up truck. Investigators consider the 32-year-old to be armed and dangerous.
