Florence man charged with felony DUI after passenger dies

Florence, SC - FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A Florence man is in jail Sunday for felony DUI after his 1982 Buick flipped multiple times, resulting in the death of his passenger.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.  Anthony McCall, 27, of Florence, was traveling westbound on East Sam Harrell Road when he ran off the right side of the road and overturned.

His passenger, 23-year-old Samson Tyler Muldrow of Florence, was ejected from the car and taken to McLeod Regional Medical Center. According to Florence County Deputy Coroner Don Reynolds, Muldrow went into surgery, but died from injuries obtained in the accident around 1:11 a.m. Sunday.

In addition to felony DUI, police charged McCall with an uninsured motor vehicle violation, operating a vehicle which is not registered and licensed, use of a license plate on a different vehicle than issued, and driving under suspension.
