GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) - Hundreds of potential movie extras showed up for a casting call on Saturday in Georgetown.
The film, titled "Isopod," is set to begin shooting in the South Strand in just a few weeks.
"Sometimes we need character faces. It just depends when we're putting a scene together," Tona Dahlquist, a casting agent overseeing the project, said.
Applicants on Saturday filled out a one page form that included information about their body type, acting experience, and previous jobs. Casting agents were reluctant to release details about the plot of the film, but said they are looking for some unique characters.
"We are trying to find a couple of amputees for a hospital scene. We're looking for a set of identical male twins and people who are experts at eating blue crabs," Dahlquist said.
Extras who are hired will be paid for their work, but hours do vary depending on the role the person is chosen for.
Applicants were also asked to provide the casting agent with a head shot for further review. If you want to apply to be an extra in the film, there is a small chance of a speaking role, you can still apply.
Those wishing to apply can email the casting company at: firstname.lastname@example.org to request the documents needed for the job.
