Beech Island man sentenced to 360 months in prison

Columbia, SC - COLUMBIA, SC (WMBF) – A Beech Island man has been sentenced in federal court in Columbia on drug charges.

Travis Williams, 27, pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of crack cocaine and 5 kilograms or more of powder cocaine. U.S. District Judge Margaret B. Seymour sentenced Williams to 360 months in prison followed by 10 years of supervised released.

U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles said evidence established that Williams conspired with others to distribute more than 184 kilograms of crack cocaine and more than 860 kilograms of powder cocaine from 2001 – 2008.

In 1999, Williams was convicted of distributing cocaine and received a sentencing enhancement for the conviction.
