LAKE CITY, SC (WMBF) – Florence County School District Three's Adult Education program presented 64 high school diplomas during a graduation ceremony on Thursday.

"We are so very proud of all of you and what you have accomplished," Beth Wright, Florence School District Three Superintendent and keynote speaker for the ceremony said.

Graduate Jeremy Reynolds, who dropped out of school as a senior in 1997, addressed his fellow graduates.  "No one can ever take this away from me, and now that I am older I know how to take this and run with it.  What we are receiving today is a good thing in life and we should hold on to it, and not let it become a faded memory," Reynolds said.

Another 85 students received Workkeys certificates. WorkKeys is a job skills assessment system measuring 10 skills that employers believe are critical.

"These students had to demonstrate dedication and responsibility in order to complete their education. All of our graduates have worked hard to accomplish their educational goals, and we celebrate their successes with them," Dr. Mark Evans, Florence Three's director of alternative education said.
