WILMINGTON, NC - UNC Wilmington scored a trio of goals in a span of 5:43 midway through the first half, including two scores from Erin Pardini, and went on to a 4-0 win over visiting Francis Marion University, Wednesday evening in women's college soccer action.
The Patriots (0-3-0) will open their home schedule on Friday with a 4 p.m. match against Radford University.
Sara Kneeland opened the scoring in the 24th minute and Pardini followed with tallies in the 26th and 29th minutes as the Seahawks claimed a 3-0 advantage at halftime.
Ali Nagle accounted for the final score with an unassisted goal in the 53rd minute.
UNCW outshot Francis Marion 19-6 and led 8-3 in corner kicks.
Junior Kiley Williams and freshman Teri Kourtis each had two shots for FMU, with both of Kourtis' efforts being on frame.
Junior goalkeepers Casey Durham and Lauren Vetock both played for the Patriots. Durham allowed three goals in 34 minutes while making two saves. Vetock made her first appearance in a Patriot uniform and registered five saves in 56 minutes, while allowing one goal.
Chandler Follett recorded four saves while minding the UNCW goal.
