Woman arrested for shoplifting at Coastal Grand Mall

Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A Russian woman has been arrested for shoplifting at the Coastal Grand Mall, according to Myrtle Beach Police.

Police said Irina Jurevna Buzhina, 21, stole two items from the Dillard's store in the mall around 8:30 p.m.

A security officer at the store stated that he saw Buzhina in the Junior's section of Dillard's and noticed that she looked familiar. He radioed a camera operator and asked that they follow Buzhina on camera.

According to the security officer, Buzhina entered a fitting room with five articles of clothing, only returning with one. When a sales associate checked the fitting room, they found that two articles of clothing were missing.

Buzhina then exited the store, where she was approached by the security officer. He stated that she turned over the two articles of clothing, a white leather jacket and a black shirt valued at $83.

Police said Buzhina was then arrested and detained in the store while the police were contacted. Buzhina had no previous charges or convictions for shoplifting and was charged with shoplifting first offense.
