Laurinburg, NC - LAURINBURG, NC (WMBF) – The Laurinburg/Scotland County Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a two-day Resources and Jobs Expo on Sept. 23-24 in Laurinburg.
The event will give displaced workers an opportunity to see resources Scotland County has to help them be back into the workforce.
Between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Sept. 23, expo attendees can visit booths and attend seminars from resources in Scotland County aimed at helping those unemployed or underemployed. Hourly door prices will be offered throughout the day.
Each seminar is 45 minutes long and includes topics such as job hunting skills, interview skills, and financial planning.
Attendees will also be able to schedule one-on-one appointments with agency representatives.
Between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sept. 24, attendees will meet with local business representatives who will showcase job openings and the skills needed to work for them.
Anyone using the Scotland County Area Transit Service to attend the expo will have their fares paid by the chamber. Vans are scheduled to stop throughout the day at the Hilltop Shopping Center in Maxton, the Wagram town hall, Gibson Depot, and Laurel Hill Community Center.
Auxiliary aids and services will be available to individuals with disabilities.
