Andrews, SC - GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Officials in Georgetown County are investigating a small plane crash in Andrews that killed one person late Wednesday morning, according to reports.
Lt. Neil Johnson, spokesman for the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office, said a small plane crashed in a wooded area 150 yards off of the runway at the Andrews Airport.
Records show the small, private Skyline plane was registered to Richard H. Gross of McClellanville.
Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson confirmed one person died in the crash, according to The Georgetown Times.
Investigators with the NTSB and FAA are currently examining the accident and the conditions that caused the plane to crash.
