Myrtle Beach man arrested for domestic violence

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A Myrtle Beach man has been arrested for domestic violence on Tuesday night, according to the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

Joey Shutt, 46, of Myrtle Beach was arrested Tuesday and charged with criminal domestic violence.

Police say at approximately 1:51 p.m., they responded to a call in regards to a domestic violence incident. The victim stated that Shutt came home and reached for some change on the counter. When the victim told him no, Shutt allegedly began hitting her on her back and shoulder area as well as her legs.

The victim claims that Shutt then grabbed her out of her chair and dragged her across the counter, throwing her into the cabinets.

A witness at the scene alleges that they saw Shutt spit in the victim's face and hit her numerous times.

Shutt was located and arrested by Myrtle Beach Police. Upon a criminal history check, police discovered that Shutt had two prior convictions of domestic violence within the past 10 years.
