Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A man has been arrested for unlawful use of a telephone on Monday night, according to Myrtle Beach Police.
Richard Dressler, 62, of Surfside Beach, allegedly sent a woman numerous text messages containing obscene language and harassing phone calls Monday evening.
Police said the woman claimed Dressler had been sending her the messages since June 2009. She asked Dressler to stop contacting her, which he did for a few months and proceeded to start again.
When police contacted Dressler at approximately 7:13 p.m. on Monday and asked him to stop contacting the victim, he agreed. Dressler allegedly sent an obscene text message to the victim about 30 minutes later.
Surfside Beach Police later issued a warrant for Dressler's arrest and took him into custody Monday night. Dressler was transferred to the Myrtle Beach Jail.
