Hartsville Police search for armed robbery suspect

Hartsville, SC - HARTSVILLE, SC (WMBF) - Police in Hartsville continue to search for a man believed to be responsible for robbing a Sonic Drive-In at gunpoint early Tuesday morning.

Officers were dispatched to 328 North Fifth Street Tuesday at 12:15 a.m. after learning a man robbed the business at gunpoint, according to Hartsville Police Chief Tim Kemp.

Investigators said after the man completed the robbery, he fled the immediate area on foot.

The suspect has been described as a black male in his mid-20s, standing 5'6" and weighing 215 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Kemp said the man was wearing a black windbreaker, blue jeans, black shoes and gloves during the armed robbery.

Anyone with information on the identity or location of the suspect is asked to call the Hartsville Police Department immediately.
