Horry County, SC - HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Four ammunition cartridges found in Bucksport on Tuesday afternoon could date back to World War II, according to Horry County Police.
Officers were called to an address on Chadmon Lane around 4:30 p.m. after a person brought a picture of the ammunition into the Horry County Museum. Employees at the museum alerted police, leading to an investigation by the Horry County Bomb Squad.
Lt. Creel, spokesman for the Horry County Police Department, said agents secured four .50 caliber cartridges. Creel said the cartridges could date as far back as the 1940s.
Officials said the cartridges did not pose a threat to the public and will be disposed of at a later date.
