SCHP: SUV overturns, killing 35-year-old driver

Horry County, SC - HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate an early morning car accident that killed a Green Sea man on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the agency said the single-vehicle accident occurred at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday on SC-410, approximately 8 miles west of Loris.

Investigators believe a 1998 Chevrolet SUV was traveling on SC-410 when it ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and struck a ditch on the left side of the road. The vehicle overturned after striking the ditch, killing the driver.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendrick identified the driver of the SUV as 35-year-old Madison Hall Elliott of Green Sea. Elliott died on the scene of the accident from blunt force trauma.

Officials said no other victims or vehicles were involved in the accident.
