Suspect takes off with teen's purse in morning burglary

Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A 19-year-old's purse was stolen in midst of a home burglary in Myrtle Beach early Tuesday morning, according to area police.

Officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department said a woman woke up to an unknown black male inside of her apartment around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police were dispatched to the apartment, located along 13th Avenue South, 10 minutes after the reported burglary.

The woman told police after she spotted the male sitting on her couch, she discovered her black purse went missing. The purse, according to a police report, contained the woman's Russian driver's license, a key to the apartment and $20.

Police described the suspect as a black male in his 30s who was wearing a white T-shirt at the time of the incident. Officials have not been able to identify a suspect based off of the description given by the victim.

Anyone with information on the home burglary is asked to call the Myrtle Beach Police Department.
