Police investigate rape claims at MB nightclub

Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A 40-year-old woman claims she was raped two times at a Myrtle Beach nightclub over the weekend.

Myrtle Beach Police were called to the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center at 5 a.m. Sunday after a woman told medical personnel she was forced to have sex twice while at Tequila Empire, located at 1012 S. Kings Hwy.

The victim told police she met with the suspect at Senor Frogs and traveled to Tequila Empire to celebrate the birthday of the suspect's brother. While at the club, the victim said the suspect followed her into the bathroom and forced her to have sex in a bathroom stall.

After attempting to run out of the club, the victim told police the suspect followed her, pushed her to the ground, and forced her to have sex with him again. The victim said while outside, two men were watching the suspect take advantage of her.

The victim was later transported to the Grand Strand Medical Center by EMS to receive medical treatment.

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his mid to late 20s, standing 5'6" to 5'8" and weighing 170 pounds. The suspect, according to police, had black hair, brown eyes and a tattoo of the name "Christina" on his forearm.
