Three more suspects arrested in deadly Socastee shooting

SOCASTEE, SC (WMBF) - Three more people have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Socastee, bringing the total number of people charged to seven.

Horry County Police arrested Maura Rhea Bomar, Dalton Wade Morrow, and Michael David Walling on Sunday. All three people have been charged with accessory after the fact to a felony or murder.

George Everett Gray, of Conway, was arrested on Saturday and charged with murder.

Police also arrested Russell Dale Griffin and Savannah Michelle Griffin, of Myrtle Beach, on Saturday as well. They have both been charged with accessory after the fact to a felony or murder.

Alex Lorenzo Robinson, 28, of Conway, was arrested earlier on murder charges for his alleged role in the death of Sylvester Smart Jr. on Aug. 21.

Horry County Police were dispatched to an address on Strand Drive in Socastee around 2:10 a.m. after learning of a possible shooting. Upon arrival, police found Smart suffering from a gunshot wound.

EMS workers transported Smart to the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, where he later died as a result of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Robinson remains in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

Investigators with the Horry County Police Department have not released any details regarding a possible motive behind the shooting.
