Video visitations delayed at J. Reuben Long

Conway, SC - CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Visitation is going high tech at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Conway, following an announcement by officials that all inmate visits will now be conducted through video.

The video visitations will be conducted on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the day at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center Administration Building.

Tom Fox, spokesman for J. Reuben Long Detention Center, said the facility hopes to have the new video conferencing centers up and running by next week.

According to officials, guests are permitted to schedule a visit up to seven days in advance, but no less than 24 hours of the requested time. Inmates housed at the detention center are allowed two scheduled visits per week.

All visitors under the age of 17 are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Visitors who are more than 10 minutes late for their scheduled appointment will not be permitted to visit and will have to reschedule.
