Brunswick County, NC - BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WMBF) - A search and seizure operation at a Brunswick County home has led to the discovery of 16.5 pounds of marijuana, according to officials.

Sgt. April Gause, spokeswoman for the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, said deputies were called to investigate a person's wellbeing at 828 Farmers Ct. A search of the house led agents to find marijuana plants growing inside of the residence.

Officials, according to Gause, were able to dismantle an "elaborate system" of high energy lights, ballasts and a cooling system that worked in unison to obtain an optimum growing environment for marijuana.

An additional 4.5 pounds of high-grade packaged marijuana was also discovered inside of the residence. The marijuana, investigators said, has a street value of $20,000 to $30,000.

Agents also seized a customized Harley Davidson Motorcycle valued at $ 20,000. The motorcycle contained an altered and/or removed serial number.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Dennis Pratt Peregory, 54, of Shalotte, for one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Additional charges will be forthcoming in the case.

Anyone with information on Pergeory's location are asked to contact the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office immediately.
