3 victims identified in Florence homicide investigation

Florence, SC - FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Three bodies discovered inside of a mobile home on Monday have sparked a triple homicide investigation by the Florence County Sheriff's Office.

Capt. Michael Nunn, spokesman for the Florence County Sheriff's Office, said deputies were dispatched to 1505 Cromer Lane shortly after 5 p.m. Nunn said neighbors called 911 after finding two bodies inside of the residence.

A third body, according to Nunn, was located inside of the home during the investigation.

Florence County Coroner Bubba Matthews identified the victims as John Timmons, 56; Tion Gore, 37; and Shannon Gainey, 25, all of Florence. The three victims, according to officials, appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

The bodies of Timmons, Gore and Gainey have been transported to the Medical University of South Carolina for individual autopsies.

Area residents say there has never been a murder in their part of town.

"This is the first that I know of around here, and I was born and raised right here in this house," said Linda Clayton. "This is the first I've ever heard of anybody getting shot around here."

Detectives on the case have not made any arrests and continue to investigate the case as a homicide.

Anyone with information regarding the shootings is asked to call the Florence County Sheriff's Office at (843) 665-2121 or CrimeStoppers of the Pee Dee at (843) 667-TIPS.

CrimeStoppers is offering a $300 reward for any information leading to an arrest or conviction.
