Clerk grabbed by the throat, threatened during armed robbery

Florence, SC - FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Investigators with the Florence County Sheriff's Office said two men grabbed a convenience store clerk by the throat and threatened to kill her during an armed robbery on Sunday night.

Capt. Michael Nunn, spokesman for the Florence County Sheriff's Office, said deputies were dispatched to a convenience store at 2301 Hoffmeyer Rd. in reference to an armed robbery Sunday at 10:30 p.m.

A store clerk told investigators two men entered the store, both armed with handguns. The employee said one of the suspects grabbed her by the throat, threatened to kill her and her family, and demanded any cash inside of the store.

The employee said the two men took a small amount of cash, cigarettes and cigars before fleeing the store.

Nunn described both suspects as black males that are believed to be in their 20s. One of the suspects had a tattoo on the right-side of his neck and was wearing a white hat at the time of the armed robbery. The second suspect, according to Nunn, was wearing a black hat with a stocking over his face.

Anyone with information on the location of the suspects is asked to call the Florence County Sheriff's Office immediately.
