Conway, SC (WMBF) - The high school football regular season is still a week away, but the Conway National Bank Kickoff Classic gave ten area teams a chance to get off of the practice field and into a real game situation.

Socastee knocked off Waccamaw 3-0 in game one, and North Myrtle Beach took down Aynor 10-0. Carolina Forest just edged Green Sea-Floyds 7-6, and Myrtle Beach dominated Loris 28-8. Host team Conway beat St. James in the night's final game 21-7.

"During the summer, we've been beating up on each other a lot," said North Myrtle Beach Senior quarterback Timmy Bellamy. "It's fun to release some of your stress on the other team."

Each game was twenty minutes, as teams got several chances to test their offenses and defenses. One coach, though, is already thinking about next week.

"We're going to be on the same field next week," North Myrtle Beach coach Perry Woolbright said after his team took out Aynor. "It'll be the same type crowds, same atmosphere, its going to mean a lot next week because it's win or lose."
