Greene indicted on porn charge by grand jury

Richland County, SC - RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WMBF/WIS) - U.S. Senate candidate Alvin Greene has been indicted by a Richland County grand jury Friday on two charges, according to officials.

The Richland County grand jury indicted Greene on a felony charge for disseminating, producing or promoting obscenity, in addition to a misdemeanor charge of communicating obscene materials to a person without consent.

Officials allege Greene showed pornographic images to a University of South Carolina student on a dormitory computer.

Despite his pending charges, the 32-year-old unemployed military vet managed to catapult himself into national headlines after winning an unexpected spot on South Carolina's U.S. Senate ticket as a Republican candidate.

Greene defeated former state lawmaker Vic Raw on June 8 for the spot. He now faces GOP U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint in November.
