SOUTH CAROLINA (WMBF) - Another hot, steamy day has led the National Weather Service to issue a heat advisory for much of the Grand Strand and Pee Dee on Thursday.
The National Weather Service predicts temperatures will soar into the low to mid 90s through Thursday afternoon. Paired with high humidity, heat index values will have the potential to top 110 degrees.
The heat advisory, according to forecasters, will remain in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday.
WMBF Storm Team Meteorologist Katy Morgan said chances for rain remain slim until a boundary slides south on Thursday night, ushering in more clouds. Rain chances, according to Morgan, will increase throughout the day on Friday.
The cloudy conditions will continue through Saturday, offering a small amount of relief from intense sunshine and temperatures.
