ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A former South Carolina pastor serving an arson sentence after being convicted of setting fire to his church faces more prison time after his capture in North Carolina.
Multiple media organizations reported Thursday that Asheville police arrested 41-year-old Christopher Patrick Daniels for trespassing. Police say Daniels broke into an office trailer at a metal recycling company.
He had a warrant for his arrest from Pickens County, S.C., where he was charged with escape.
Authorities say Daniels walked away from his inmate work detail at the Pickens County landfill more than two months ago. He was serving a 15-year sentence for arson and fraud.
Daniels was pastor at Blue Ridge Baptist Church in Belton, S.C., but was convicted last year after a fire at the church.
