Fire in Downtown Conway burns vacant warehouse

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - An overnight fire has destroyed part of a warehouse in Downtown Conway.

Conway Fire Department spokesman Jeremy Carter said the fire broke out just before midnight Wednesday on Beaty Avenue, between Fourth and Fifth Avenues.

Firefighters with Horry County Fire Rescue and the Conway Fire Department responded to the fire and contained it in a short amount of time. Officials estimated about 20 percent of the building was destroyed.

Carter says no one was hurt, and that the building was vacant at the time. The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
