Registration announced for Florence School District One

Florence, SC - FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Despite summer being in full swing, officials in Florence School District One are wasting no time in getting new students enrolled in classes for the 2010-2011 school year.

Registration for the upcoming school year is slated to take place Aug. 2-5 for prospective high school students. Elementary and middle school students will partake in registration from Aug. 4-5.

Officials said registration will operate as follows:

  • South Florence High and West Florence High (8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
    • Seniors - Aug. 2
    • Juniors - Aug. 3
    • Sophomores - Aug. 4
    • Freshmen - Aug. 5
  • Wilson High School
    • Juniors and Seniors - Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Sophomores - Aug. 3 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Freshmen - Aug 5 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

All elementary and middle schools will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. for registration.

Schools may extend the time available for registration for parents who cannot register their children during normal school hours. Officials are advising parents to register students at the school for which they are zoned.

Parents needing school zoning information are asked to contact the attendance office for the assignments.
