Police: 15-year-old punched, assaulted outside of IGA store

Longs, SC - LONGS, SC (WMBF) - Three women are facing charges in Horry County after allegedly assaulting a 15-year-old girl outside of an IGA grocery store in Longs Friday afternoon.

Officers with the Horry County Police Department were dispatched to the IGA, located along Highway 90, after receiving reports of a fight. Upon arrival, a 15-year-old told police she was waiting for her mother in a car outside of the store when one of three suspects opened a door to the car she was waiting in.

The victim said after exiting the car, she was approached by two other suspects at the entrance of the store and was pushed to the ground. The victim told police the two suspects then began punching her and pulling out her hair.

After police evaluation, small bruises were located on the victim's body.

Horry County Police later arrested Anna Marie Barnes, 18, Michelle Andrea Barnes, 23, and Shirley Laticia Barnes, 17, all of Longs, and charged them with third degree assault and battery by a mob.

The three women have since been released from custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on a $1,000 bond.
