Myrtle Beach, SC - MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Late nights may be on the summer schedule for many teens across Myrtle Beach, but now those under the age of 18 will have to watch the clocks a little closer.
The City of Myrtle Beach reinstated a juvenile curfew last week for those under the age of 18. The curfew, according to officials, has been placed in effect from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. daily.
Those found violating the curfew will be cited for a misdemeanor and subjected to a possible $500 fine or 30 days in jail.
Other than specific exceptions or when accompanied by a parent or guardian, juveniles may not be in public places during the curfew hours, according to City of Myrtle Beach spokesman Mark Kruea.
