MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Next week the Northside Pharmacy in Myrtle Beach will close its doors.
People who have been coming to the pharmacy for decades say they'll miss having their pharmacist know them by their first names.
Chuck Neuhaus commented, "In the first place they know who you are, you walk in and they say hello Mr. Neuhaus, do you need to fill a prescription?"
Dr. Gene Butler explains how the pharmacy has a hometown feel and how the community will be saddened.
"My wife and I read it (a letter informing the closure) and we almost, we got tearful, we were upset about it," said Butler.
One of the owners, John Howell, said, "We are going to miss them all but we are still going to take care of them down at CVS on 67th Avenue."
The pharmacy plans on closing its doors on Wednesday.
The owners of Northside Pharmacy will be transferred to that store.
